TORONTO, CANADA, MAY 7, 2007 - (Left to right) Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes, with the recipients of the 2007 March of Dimes Prize in Developmental Biology, Prof. Anne McLaren, principal research associate at the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute at the University of Cambridge; and Prof. Janet Rossant, chief of research at the Hospital for Sick Children and professor at the University of Toronto; and Elizabeth Roosevelt Johnston, Esq. (right), a member of the March of Dimes national Board of Trustees and great-granddaughter of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt – who founded the March of Dimes -- joined Dr. Howse in presenting the Prize.




TORONTO, CANADA, MAY 7, 2007 - Prof. Janet Rossant (center) of the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto, the co-recipient of the 2007 March of Dimes Prize in Developmental Biology, with (left) Dr. Davor Solter of the Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor, Me., who received the Prize in 1998; and Dr. Michael Katz, vice president for Global Programs and Research for the March of Dimes.  Prof. Rossant and her co-recipient Prof. Anne McLaren received the Prize during a black tie dinner and award ceremony here.

Howse, president of the March of Dimes; Brigid Hogan, Ph.D., Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina;  Melvin Grumbach, M.D., University of California at San Francisco;  and Michael Katz, M.D., vice president for Research and Global Programs of the March of Dimes.
