CBS Early Show Highlights WalkAmerica Weekend

New York, NY, April 25, 2003--On the outdoor plaza of the CBS Early Show, March of Dimes WalkAmerica corporate volunteers from CIGNA, Kmart, Famous Footwear, and GUM® brand of oral care products donned their Walk shirts and smiles for an early morning interview.  Dr. Nancy Green, March of Dimes medical director, spoke with the Early Show's co-anchor Hannah Storm about this weekend's WalkAmerica, which will be in 1,100 communities all across the country.  To find out how to participate or donate call 1-800-525-WALK or log on to walkamerica.org.

Hannah Storm, co-host for the CBS Early Show talked with Dr. Nancy Green, March of Dimes medical director, about WalkAmerica and the growing problem of premature births in the U.S.   Hannah demonstrates her understanding by showing that premature babies are so tiny their legs can fit inside her ring. This year WalkAmerica, the March of Dimes largest fund raiser, hopes to raise more than $94 million dollars to help fund education and research to stem the tide of this common and serious problem.
