Huggies® Every Little Bottom

March of Dimes is proud to partner with the Huggies® Every Little Bottom program to raise awareness about diaper need and to help address the need in our community and across the U.S.

A new study reveals that 1 in 3 American moms are in diaper need – they struggle to provide diapers for their babies. These mothers have had cut back on other basics including food, utilities like heat or electricity, child care and even medical care in order to provide diapers.

Other basic needs like food are covered under government sponsored programs; however, moms and babies who need diapers fall into a coverage gap. And, as a result,
• One in five moms in diaper need say they run out of money to purchase diapers, and
• Nearly one in five moms in diaper need have extended the amount of time they leave their babies in wet or soiled disposable diapers – in extreme cases, moms have cleaned out and reused wet or soiled diapers.
Babies kept in wet, dirty diapers for extended periods of time have both health and emotional implications. And, moms and families may be forced to miss work or school because some day care centers do not accept children without an adequate supply of diapers.

Find out more about the Huggies® Every Little Bottom program, read the study and learn about some ways that you can help at www.EveryLittleBottom.com. Help us spread the word about diaper need and ensure that all babies get the healthiest start possible.
